[Maine-birds] Snowy Owl in the storm

Yesterday the wind was blowing at gale force all day. The snowy Owl at Strawberry Island was doing the best it could to get some shelter from that intense wind. Here are some photos of it behind a small shrub and some rocks. I'm sure it spent most of the day there because I watched it for two hours and all it did was move it's head around. At high tide the entire island was awash with huge waves and blowing sea spray, only this little spot of land was showing.
  Happy birding.           Ken.
