Good morning all -- Low tide at first light in S. Portland / Cape Elizabeth.
38 Brant foraging in the seaweeds (shallow water and on the beach) at the waterline this morning at Crescent Beach, very near the access road/pkg lot.
Also, one E. Bluebird very close to the Rte 77 / Kettle Cove Rd. intersection in Cape Elizabeth.
Checked the boardwalk vantage point behind the SoPo Hannaford (nice boardwalk!), but again, way low tide. No special gulls and no Canvasback, even with the help of a scope. Kind of raw conditions there.
Yesterday in Orland, the Naramissic River is open on both sides of US Rte 1, and I stopped to view the special goldeneye possible COGO X BAGO hybrid Jerry Smith alerted us to. Still processing my thoughts on that one, and hope to see it again soon with my camera this time. I was running late and only had a couple minutes in rainy conditions.
