[Maine-birds] Re: (Maine Birds) Mount Desert Island Birds: Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) at Hulls Cove

Hello all,

Just a heads up for potatoe country and North....  TV's are coming.... This is one of the earliest reports for me,  March 18 .  Big extended  flow of gusty SW wind today 34F feeling like single digits

Snow Bunting on Lamoine Beach at 3:45. Gusty cold winds foraging in and around  nasty rotting Knoted Wrack.    Take care.

Michael

Comments: Son Graham and I going to Ellsworth for an eye-doctor appt. after a basketball injury. Two Turkey Vulture crossing over the water at Hulls Cove are by FOY with Graham saying, " Dad their only little blobs, how can you know that!" After somewhere around 30,000 plus TV's you almost sense them before you see them...... nothing like TV's. History here starts in earnest during and after 1993 when they began to show up in murders. That summer I reported seeing 6-10 TV over the south ridge of Champlain Mountain. This is a frequent valley of choice for many TV;s and Raptors and a place to see both spring and fall raptor migration.
