Connecticut Ornithological Association is trying to find replacement trees for the dying Japanese Black Pines that play host to irruptive Crossbills at Hammonasset State Park. Does anyone know the trees that are favored by these birds in Maine? We need to replant with disease resistant trees, preferably a species that are salt water resistant. Thank you.
