Went out on the Isle au Haut mailboat's Puffin Cruise today, with skilled naturalist Bob Duchesne. Despite recent reports from other observers in the area, we missed the Red-billed Tropicbird. It is surely still around somewhere.
In addition to the usuals, we were successful with a single Greater Shearwater, dozens of Wilson's Storm-Petrels, one (only) Northern Gannet, one Common Murre (seen briefly), and many Atlantic Puffins. Razorbills have apparently already packed their bags and moved on. One skilled observer on the boat saw a large gull with all white wings, but we heard nothing more definitive. We had quick looks at both Red-necked and Red phalaropes (only a handful of the latter).
