[Maine-birds] June 4-5 Prairie Warbler discussion.

Back on June 4-5 there was a brief discussion of Prairie Warblers and the question of how far east they were found. A inquiry was to the New Brunswick Bird group and respondents reported them to be quite rare to the east of Maine. The New Brunswick Breeding Bird Atlas reports a singing and possibly nesting PRWA on Kent Island off Grand Manan in 1992. Several people noted them on Grand Manan Island, nearby White Head Island, and nearbly Point Lepreau on the mainland with all sightings in the fall between Aug. and Oct. with single Nov. and Dec. records. There is one record for the northern Acadian Peninsula in 2005. That's it for New Brunswick so it seems that they are probably at their northern breeding limit here in Maine.
