Glanced out at a sparrow on our close-to-the-house hanging feeder and realized it wasn't a tree sparrow. It's the first Field Sparrow for our Berwick yard this year and not when I'd have expected it!
Also unexpected was a trio of Horned Larks flying over after the big snow earlier this week, #135 on the yard list. Quite a finish for the year. Looking forward to the "reset" in a few hours. Happy 2013, all.
