About 18 pine grosbeaks in the fruit trees in front of the Augusta armory today. Unfortunately there was also one dead in the snow under the tree. I wonder if it flew into the traffic on Western Ave. and got hit, something I have worried about whenever I see them in landscape plantings in high traffic areas.
On a happier note, I had five American tree sparrows in my friend's yard on Church Hill Road this morning. Maine birds mailing list
