[Maine-birds] Maine newbie kindly seeking suggestions!

Hello,

My name is Kyle Te Poel.  My wife and I just moved to the Augusta area (East Winthrop) a week ago.  I've been enjoying the many warblers up here but have been enviously reading the reports of many of you in and near the coastal areas.  We are looking to head to the coast somewhere for a day, maybe 2, before this week is over.  I'd love to see some shorebirds since there aren't many good places I've found near Augusta for that (I could be wrong), but I'm guessing it's probably winding down for them--though I've been reading the reports from Scaborough, etc.

Long story short, does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to go for a day or two max this week to see good birds along the coast, within an hour or so from Augusta?  Thinking Camden as the farthest north, no further than Wells/Kennebunkport south.  I'm on the listserv, bought the Maine Birding Trail book, and done some research, but any advice is appreciated!

Also, any Augusta-area birders are welcome to contact me if you'd like to go birding some time, or have any tips for me on this area.  Thanks in advance!
