York County

A SNOWY OWL was seen perched on East Goose Rocks in Kennebunkport on the 23rd.

At least 3 SNOWY OWLS continue to be reported around Biddeford Pool this week.

Greater Portland

On the 22nd, a SNOWY OWL was seen along Prout's Neck in Scarborough.

Uncommon in February, a KILLDEER was seen from the Eastern Trail through the Scarborough Marsh on the 23rd. Seven LAPLAND LONGSPURS were reported near the Eastern Trail on the 25th.

A pair of GADWALL was seen on the 23rd from Pine Point in Scarborough.

Kennebec River Valley (Augusta-Waterville)

A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen at the Shawmut Dam in Fairfield on the 23rd. Best viewing is accessed by going to the east end of Kennebec St. and turning left, then walking up to look over the area above the dam.

On the 28th a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL (possibly the same as the Shawmut Dam bird) was found at the Hatch Hill Landfill in Augusta.

Midcoast

Continuing from January 2nd, an immature RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was still being reported along Whiskeag Road in Bath as of the 27th. Most observations are close to the Whiskeag Creek, near the address: 166 Whiskeag Road, Bath.

Penobscot Bay

At least one SNOWY OWL continued to be seen at the Owls Head Airport as of the 28th.

A NORTHERN PINTAIL and an AMERICAN WIGEON continued to be seen in Camden Harbor this week.

Central Maine

Since November 12th, a NORTHERN HAWK OWL has been seen near the intersection of Route 116 (Penobscot Valley Ave / Route 95 Connector Road) and Route 2 (West Broadway). This bird was still being reported as of the 27th.

Downeast

Two SNOWY OWLS continue to be reported from the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton as of the 23rd.

An early AMERICAN WOODCOCK was reported along Route 1 through Jonesboro on the 23rd.
