[Maine-birds] Biddeford/Kennebunkport CBC

What a great day to be out birding!   This has to be the warmest driest CBC that I have ever done in Maine.  Usually if it is this warm, it is raining!

Preliminary report - feeder data not included:

Highlights:  1 Northern Saw-whet Owl (7th time seen on count),  and 1 Western Tanager ( 2nd time)

                                       1 Red-Shouldered Hawk - (5th time)

1 American Redstart and 2 Tree Swallows - both new species to the count.

                                       87 Species (third highest)

Here are some of the common or expected birds that we missed today that might be around during the rest of the count week - Barred Owl, Golden-Crown Kinglet, snow bunting, and the northern finches, Redpolls or Bohemian Waxwings.   Please let me know if you spot any of these birds or other rare birds in our circle (Dec. 28th  - 30th ).    Thanks.

Full report to come once I get the feeder data.
