[Maine-birds] Western Grebe - Yes

The previously reported Western Grebe was about 20 m north of Red Nun "12" in Middle Bay, between Birch I. and Harpswell, today at 11:37. It dove, then surfaced closer to Birch I., then became entangled in gull piracy on 2 Drake Com Eiders. A boat w/ 2 duck hunters and a Black Lab then stirred up all the waterfowl in the vicinity, and it was not seen again.

All this visible from the terminus of the Wilson's Cove Trail, the fourth of six vantage points for scoping. The second of these points (Skolfield Shores Prsrv) provided the best view of a building flock of Scaup, mostly Greaters.
