[Maine-birds] Kennebunk Western Tanager Yes-Cousens apt. Monday

On Monday, 12/29, after freezing in the wind for 45 minutes looking for the Western Tanager at the corner of Day St and Brown St., with no luck, I decided to look for robins. About 12:45 p.m. I found large numbers of them around the parking lot of the Cousens apartments  on Day St. nearer town. A Western Tanager was favoring a berried tree near the playground. I watched it for several minutes; it flew and then came back for another 20 minutes or so, seen from my car about 6' away. It was gone when I left at 1:20. The yellow belly and bright yellow wing bar were clearly in sight most of the time. It flew when I got out of my car.

Subject: [Maine-birds] Western Tanager Yes

Turk just called to report that he saw the Western Tanager in the same location as it has been spotted  over the last few days.
