[Maine-birds] Spruce budworm birds

This morning I enjoyed a very heavy flight with Cole Tiemann at Unity Pond.  I have been seeing high numbers of the warblers that are related to the spruce budworm outbreaks up north, including Tennessee, bay-breast and Cape May over the last week or two.  This morning, other than yellow-rumps, Cape Mays and bay-breasts were by far the most numerous members of the flocks.  Kind of fun for a geezer like me who is used to these birds being more rare than many of our regular migrants.

Other highlights today included a fly-by Glossy Ibis, a gnatcatcher and Prairie Warbler.

Good birding,
tom
