[Maine-birds] White-winged Gulls, Portland Fish Pier, and Black Hawk Continues, 1/16

David Donsker and I spent a couple hours at the Portland Fish Pier around lunch time today.  And although we had just 40 or 50 gulls, at least 6 were white-winged -

-  Iceland (Kumlien's) Gull - one adult, one 2nd yr, at least two 1st year
-  Iceland (Thayer's) Gull - one 1st year
-  Herring x Glaucous ("Nelson's") Gull - one 1st year - tentative ID

Details are provided in the eBird checklist, including photos of the potential Nelson's Gull.  Your input would be appreciated.

We also had one 1st year Iceland (Kumlien's) at Mill Creek Cove.

Earlier the Great Black Hawk put on a great show eating a squirrel near the middle of Deering Park -
