[Maine-birds] Bauneg Beg Mt. Hawks watching this spring

Yesterday 

 Hawk watching 10.24 AM to 1.29 PM. WSW wind, 0 to 5 MPH, partly cloudy.

Turkey Vulture  3     1.     Resident.
Sharp-shinned Hawk  3     migrating
Cooper's Hawk  1     migrating
Accipiter sp.  1     Flew over my head so close I could hear the wooosh of the bird. Dropped down into trees.
Red-tailed Hawk  2     possibly migrating ?
eagle sp.  1     Golden on back, white at base of the primaries, tail dark brown, no white. Flying south!!
Downy Woodpecker  1

Comments:     Hawk watching is retarded in cold windy weather!!!  WNW wind 10 to 30 MPH, 27 degrees.  Mt Washington was clearly seen.

It is .63 mile hike up the mountain to get to the top.  There are no views looking south, only NW, N, and NE.
