Bradbury Mountain State Park
Pownal, Maine, USA
Visitors:
9 people visited the Hawkwatch today.
Weather:
Though temps barely made it above freezing today, it was quite pleasant with light winds out of the north and sunny skies.
Raptor Observations:
We had a great show today with Bald Eagles. 3-4 pairs (presumably local) were active along with the occasional immature eagle, playing with ravens in the sky. The "Little Brad" Red-shouldered Hawk made a couple of flyovers as well.
Non-raptor Observations:
17 species were seen or heard from the summit today. Birds deemed migrating included: 26 Canada Geese 9 American Crows 4 American Robins 1 Common Grackle
Predictions:
Tomorrow looks to be a bit warmer than today with light winds and sun. With several days now of decent raptor movement on favorable winds, it seems that the pipeline is drying up a bit. So, it should be a nice day to be on the summit and some birds will be moving, but we await a change in the weather pattern to give us the next real push of migrants.
