[Maine-birds] Snowy owl East Point/Wood Island, Biddeford Pool / Hermit Thrush West Kennebunk

Haven't seen too many reports of Snowys this winter but I was delighted to see one yesterday at the East Point Sanctuary in Biddeford Pool. As I approached the point it took off from the rocks on the south side. There was a lot of ice under the new coating of snow out there so I was looking down, rather than up, as I walked, otherwise I would have gotten a nice, fairly close look. He/she rounded the point and headed for Wood Island, flying very low over the water.
