[Maine-birds] Spring in West Kennebunk

Some encouraging signs of winter's end: Ice out in my part of the Mousam - in came wood ducks, Ring necks, hooded and common
mergansers. The local Canadian Geese returned on Thursday morning-a most welcome sight and sound!

There has been a Barred Owl hanging out right behind my house for the last 3 days. It has a nice view of my feeders-particularly the 8 gray and 2 red squirrels; they do disappear when they become aware of the visitor. Last evening I did not know the owl was about
and observed the local bluebird group darting to and fro in the trees nearby. Caught sight of the owl and watched as the bluebirds chattered and flew about it. First time I have ever seen that... still amazes me to have the bluebirds as nearly residents all winter. As a child(a while ago!) I figured I would be lucky to ever see one!
