[Maine-birds] Mt. Agamenticus hawk watch

Hi All,

Today Ken Janes and Earl Johnson joined me for about 5 hours hawk watching.  We had a good variety.  The best was 5 SANDHILL CRANES.

Sharp-shinned Hawk  2
Cooper's Hawk  1
Northern Goshawk  1     Maybe resident.
Bald Eagle  8     2 were residents
Red-shouldered Hawk  3
Red-tailed Hawk  20     Hawk watching, carefully counted. Maybe 4 we're local
Buteo sp.  7

American Kestrel  8
Merlin  1
Peregrine Falcon  1

 Sandhill Crane  5     Rare, humped back, straight neck, thin bill. Souring together, not flapping wings. Black primaries, grayish brown back. Studied well by  Earl and myself.   Flew over about 1:05 PM
