I saw an interesting duck today at the Sweetgrass Field, Passamaquoddy Reservation at Sipayik, Washington County. It flew in with several green-winged teal and I initially thought that it was a hybrid GWTE X NOPI. At a distance, the duck had a green swath behind its eye and a buffy breast that looked similar to the teal drakes. After looking at my photos, I'm now wondering if it's a pintail X mallard cross? There's more dark pigment on the head than I noticed in the field. The size seemed a tad small for a pintail, but I didn't have a side by side comparison. Here's a link to photos:

I welcome thoughts on this hybrid.
