[Maine-birds] Scarborough to Biddeford (LIEG, LIGU, BASA, STSA, RNGR, etc), 8/6.

Hi all,

It was an exceptional day out in the field today, as I guided for a client from here in Maine on a shorebird "workshop."  We ended up with
15 species of shorebirds, and some other "incidental" highlights:

- 2 adult STILT SANDPIPERS (FOY), Eastern Road Trail, Scarborough Marsh (photos)
- 1 continuing LITTLE EGRET, Pelreco marsh, Scarborough Marsh (photos)
- 1 1st-summer LITTLE GULL, Pine Point co-op (photos).
- 650++ Semipalmated Sandpipers, Pine Point and Jones Creek.
- 50+ Roseate Terns, including fledglings, with several hundred Common Terns, Pine Point.
- 1 ADULT BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, Ocean Avenue, Biddeford Pool.
- 1 breeding plumaged RED-NECKED GREBE, Ocean Avenue.
- 1 Monarch butterfly (sadly, my first of the year), Biddeford Pool neighborhood.
- did not see the Great Pond Yellow-crowned Night Heron.

What a day!

-Derek
