Kristin's post reminded me of my daughter's recent sighting, while pouring a morning cup of coffee, of a mature bald eagle sitting on top of her bird feeder! Apparently it had spied a meaty knuckle bone on the deck left there by one of her dogs. It quickly flew away, sighting movement inside but perched in a nearby birch tree and was seen the rest of the morning eyeing the bone that had been tossed on the ground with hopes it would fly in for it! She keeps goats, ducks and chickens and sees eagles often around her property.
