There was a drake canvasback sleeping amongst the mallards on the Presumpscot River behind the Frog and Turtle about an hour ago. I also noted two hen common mergs and a drake common goldeneye swimming about…While I was watching the ducks, a red-tailed hawk flew over and spooked up the large flock of gulls -- I think they were all “seagulls” (that is to say, I’m still bad with gull ID ;-).
