[Maine-birds] Vinalhaven Ferry and Owls Head Harbor

4 Iceland Gulls remain at Owls Head.

Today's ferry crossing was interesting, but not for the total number of species.  Guillemots were totally absent from Rockland Harbor to just before the FT Buoy, when we encountered a concentration of 80 birds, most in alt plum.  Then only 29 thru Hurricane Sound.  The total of 109 is a little above average, but their concentration in deep water is atypical.

Ducks were sparse in Hurricane Sound.  All those that had overwintered had split apparently.  And only a single Great Cormorant was present, diving near the entrance rocks.

Carver's Pond had 1 drake Am Wigeon plus the usual suspects.
