Re: [Maine-birds] Turkey Vulture

Maybe that was an old checklist, because 25 years ago, at the Farmington landfill, one could count as many as 40 Turkey Vultures roosting in a dead tree.  I used to scan them carefully, looking for a Black Vulture, to no avail.  The dump is no more (recycling facility now), and the vultures have found another roost.

Wow. Times have changed! There is a turkey vulture soaring above the Cape Neddick River right now. Twenty years ago they weren't even listed as a species found in Maine in the summer.
