[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights, 3/9-15

Hi all,

My observations of note over the past seven days included the following:

- 1 continuing immature male NORTHERN SHOVELER and 1 female BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, Lower Harraseeket River, South Freeport, 3/9 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk Group).

- 1 Turkey Vulture (FOY), Blanchard Road, Cumberland, 3/11 (with Jeannette).

- 1 1st winter Glaucous Gull (FOY locally), Mill Creek Cove, South Portland, 3/12 (with Jeannette).

- 8 Pine Grosbeaks, around the store's yard, 3/13. 12 present on 3/14.

- 1 male Red-winged Blackbird (FOY), feeders here at the store, 3/13.

- 1 1st-winter Iceland Gull, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 3/14 (with Zane Baker).

- 1 pair BARROW'S GOLDENEYES and 8 Greater Scaup, Simpson's Point, Brunswick, 3/14 (with Zane Baker).

- 1 Killdeer (FOY), Brunswick Landing, 3/14 (with Zane Baker).

- 5 Common Grackles (FOY), Old Port, Portland, 3/15.

- 1 1st winter Glaucous Gull and 8+ Iceland Gulls (all age classes), Portland Harbor, 3/15.
