[Maine-birds] Arriving robins, Camden

We've had robins around all winter, of course, but this morning a large flock of them have invaded the neighborhood, many of them singing—such a welcome noise! (Most of the ones I'm seeing are males. Do they travel in sex-segregated flocks? Do males arrive first like blackbirds?) I'm feeling especially pleased with myself for not raking the backyard last fall, because several robins are kicking around in the leaves to find food now. Such a delight to suddenly be surrounded with birdsong again. Even the local Red-bellied Woodpecker seems to be stirred by their arrival, calling loudly amid the robins' comings and goings.

Feeling thankful that we're "sheltering in place" as spring is arriving, so at least we have more birds to look forward to and use as incentive to get outside. Be careful and stay well, everyone!
