Visitors:
The summit was rather quiet today due to the weather, but a few people were active in the park. 6 individuals visited the hawk watch today.

Weather:
No count was conducted before 1PM due to rain and mist, impeding visibility. A break in the weather occurred just before 1PM and the count was able to be opened for 2 hours before being shut down at 3PM due to rain and lack of visibility.

Raptor Observations:
Upon starting the count at 1PM, I immediately had a Northern Goshawk fly directly over the summit. 5 Turkey Vultures were also recorded during the first hour of the count. No migrating raptors were observed within the second hour of the count.

Non-raptor Observations:
11 Species were observed from the summit today. 2 American Goldfinches were deemed migrating during.

Predictions:
Weather forecasts suggest the chance of precipitation in the early morning tomorrow should taper off rather quickly, hopefully allowing the count to start on time. The day could be hit or miss. The timing of a passing warm front in the morning and an approaching cold front in the afternoon, as well as the associated precipitation with each, will dictate the day and if birds are moving. Because the best migration conditions at Bradbury often occur between a warm front and a cold front, we could see a really good early spring migration movement thanks to ideal winds: relatively light out of the southwest, if conditions align. Warming temperatures will help make for a wonderful day to be outside.
