Hi all,
My observations of note over the past seven days included the following:
- 13 species of waterfowl at the mouth of the Abagadasset River in Bowdoinham, led by 329 American Black Ducks and 106 Mallards, but also including 36 Green-winged Teal (FOY) and 10 Ring-necked Ducks (FOS).
- 4 immature SNOW GEESE, Rte 136, Durham, 3/19 (with Allison Anholt and Luke Fultz).
- 1 female Long-tailed Duck, River Road, Lewiston, 3/19 (with Allison Anholt and Luke Fultz).
And my other personal first-of-years/first-of-spring this week were as follows:
- 2 Killdeer, Meadow Road, Durham, 3/14 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group. NOTE: Birdwalks have now been cancelled).
- 1 Winter Wren, Hedgehog Mountain Park, Freeport, 3/15.
- 22 Red-shouldered Hawks, Bradbury Mountain Spring Hawkwatch, 3/15.
- 1 Brown-headed Cowbird, Bradbury Mountain Spring Hawkwatch, 3/16.
- 1 Eastern Phoebe (FOS), Florida Lake Park, Freeport. 3/18.
