Visitors:
5 people visited the hawkwatch today.

Weather:
After a chilly start, the March sun and lighter winds warmed things up to a comfortable level, especially compared to yesterday. Winds were out of the NW most of the day, until a shift to more southerly during the last hour brought back the chill with the influence of a seabreeze. The maximum temperature reached the freezing point today, but didn't want to budge beyond it.

Raptor Observations:
The first Red-shouldered and Cooper's Hawks of the season were recorded today. Local activity of resident Bald Eagle pairs were frequent today with courtship displays and territorial disputes. One Red-shouldered Hawk was also seen displaying - perhaps a nesting pair again this year.

Non-raptor Observations:
The highlight of the day was one Red Crossbill that flew past the mountain in the morning. Two Wood Ducks were also a treat. The only other non-raptor migrants recorded today were 4 European Starlings. 22 species were seen and heard from the mountain today.

Predictions:
Our most favorable SW winds are predicted to start the day. The time it takes to rotate to the south will dictate just how good tomorrow could be. Temperatures reaching the mid-40s should make for a comfortable day of hawkwatching, perhaps without wearing everything we own.
