Weather:
Winds were light and variable for the first few hours, but picked up by lunchtime and were mainly out of the south. Temperatures rose above freezing for the first time this season and kept rising, with a high of 45 degrees.

Raptor Observations:
A decent raptor day for this early in the season, with a total of 36 birds. Red-shoulders peaked early, while red-tails continued to move through throughout the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
A flock of blackbirds flying over the parking lot in the morning led us to believe we were going to see decent blackbird migration. Unfortunately, after a few small flocks, the flight quickly died out. A total of 23 species were detected from the summit, including a calling barred owl. Other species deemed migrating: -Red-winged Blackbird -American Robin -Common Grackle -American Crow -Canada Goose

Predictions:
Light winds out of the southwest tomorrow will be highly favorable and increasing cloud cover will make spotting raptors easier. Thickening clouds and a chance of rain in the afternoon could threaten the flight, although we often see birds moving in front of precipitation. We will see if birds are indeed moving ahead of the storm passing to our south, or if they are cut off by it.
