Visitors:
18 visitors today, although no one really stayed around to chat for more than a few minutes. Shout out to Zane for coming up for the last few hours, was thankful for his company on a slow day!
Weather:
Not exactly what I'd call a pleasant day up at the summit! It was fairly cold and very windy! Winds were out of the WNW for most of the day. Skies were overcast with occasional snow flurries.
Raptor Observations:
Slow day! Birds were few and far between.
Non-raptor Observations:
Strong winds kept birds very quiet, the summit was lacking a lot of the bird song we're used to hearing. The only migrants seen were 80 Double-crested Cormorants. 16 species were detected from the summit.
Predictions:
Tomorrow will be similar to today in that there will be strong northwest winds, but there will be 2 main differences. First, temps will be about 20 degrees warmer, which should lessen the affect of the wind-chill. Second, skies will be mostly sunny, which should warm us and allow for some critical thermal development.
