The field sparrow that's been visiting since Dec 31 returned Saturday morning after 9 days avoiding me. I saw it on 9 dates in January, 6 in February, and 4 so far this month. I'm hoping it will sing for me before taking off for good.
Red-wings and grackles have made their appearances, but dawn and dusk checks for woodcock over the past week+ haven't delivered a peent or a twitter.
