[Maine-birds] Moosehorn NWR

While scouting for some rails and other marsh birds for the Downeast Birding Festival I saw a male orchard oriole just a short distance from Route 1 in Calais, near the Lower Barn Meadow and Lower Magurrewock Marshes.  There have been a pair of orchard orioles at this same location for the past 3-4 years.

We were only able to call up 2 Virginia rails in the Lower Magurrewock Marsh.  American woodcock are still doing their courtship flights throughout the Baring Division of the refuge.

At my feeder here in Dennysville I've had at least two pine siskins on a regular basis, along with the other usual birds.
