We have bluebirds nesting in a birdhouse by the pond at our house. Recently a sparrow has taken a stance on the roof of the birdhouse and chases off the bluebird parents when they come to tend the babies inside. We haven't noticed the sparrow approaching the entry to the nest. It just sits on the roof.
