This a.m. on Rte 302 on Raymond/Windham line. I was a couple of cars back when I noticed the car coming from opposite direction stopping. First thought was a duck w/ brood but definitely wasn't. Wasn't able to get the best of looks. She had lots of chicks. Everyone made scurried across safely & quickly. This is a woody area - though there is water around - so I was thinking Snipe.
Any thoughts?

In one of those probably once in a lifetime sightings, a Virginia Rail and chicks scurried across the road in front of me on the way home today on Poland Woods Rd In Morrill by the bog.
