Visitors:0.
Weather:Our hopes for some counting time were dashed as flurries turned to light snow almost exactly as we opened the count. Visibility diminished rapidly, and an hour later we gave up. The hoped for dry slot never materialized as snow turning to rain was followed by drizzle and fog through the end of the afternoon.
Raptor Observations:None. Not even a local.
Non-raptor Observations:39 Canada Geese passed overhead, heading north through the first flakes. Later, our first Brown-headed Cowbird of the year winged overhead, heard calling but not to be seen through steadier snow.
Predictions:Tomorrow sure looks better! With a weak ridge of high pressure building in, clear skies and warming temperatures are expected. Very light northwesterly winds may turn to the southwest before the end of the day, further helping to usher some migrants past the watch ahead of another approaching system. Or so we hope. -Derek
