Re: [Maine-birds] Maine Birds Auburn Forest birds

Maine Birds:  Auburn forest birds

Auburn Maine 2012, Androscoggin, US-ME
Jul 14, 2012 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Protocol: Traveling
15.0 mile(s)
Comments: Auburn on a series of stops through Maine. Today the temperature reached 93 degrees with a gentle breeze . I worked my way along a wooded edge and found breeding birds in plenty. An Indigo Bunting male played hide and seek with me as I stalked but him and the female. Every-time I would get an open shot the INBD would slip away almost impossible to see the male despite the vivid indigo blue. I use a "sweesh" call to keep the male enticed and engaged. There certainly was a nest as the female was also chipping at me as a handful of of other spies showed up.
