[Maine-birds] Messalongskee Marsh visits

Hi Folks,

I went to Messalongskee Marsh yesterday morning and this morning, each time for about + or - two hours.  Lots of road noise!  Bird song activity was not bad between 5:00 am and 7:00 am (today).  Car activity was high from 5:45 onward.   The totals below include a few non-Messalongskee birds from the surrounding area.  A train passed that sounded great with long sequences of horn blowing.  A large flock of over 500 mostly blackbirds flying over about 1/2 to 3/4 miles west of the marsh was a surprise but an unwanted sign of late summer and fall.

Happy birding,

Norm Famous from Augusta
