Mount Desert Island Birds: Northern Waterthrush July 29, 2012
Hadley Point MDI , Hancock, US-ME
Jul 29, 2012 7:00 AM - 7:15 AM
Protocol: Stationary
Comments: Paige from NY and an excellent birder help make this morning's birds list. Through my past work along coastal Maine and Mount Desert Island I use July 28 as a relative marker for the change in season and the turnaround date for many of the northern breeding migrants. True to form, Bonaparte's Gull are now present at Hadley Point having only recently arrived during the last couple of days. These treetop nesters of the tundra plains will begin to arrive in good numbers and crescendo through October.

Like a mangrove forest this was a great place to find NOWA in our northern bog habitats.
