[Maine-birds] Baby Merlins, Baby Coyote, Baby Deer

No award winning photos here, but I did manage to put up a few baby pictures at www.mainebirdingtrail.com. I like the first one because the baby Merlin took his first flight shortly after it was taken – an awkward flutter to the adjacent tree about four feet away. And back.

Also, Mourning Warbler, Boreal Chickadee, Coyote pup, and fawns.

There’s always a little tinge of sadness when the birds stop singing. I spent all of yesterday in warbler rich territory, especially loaded with Nashville Warblers, and there wasn’t a peep out of them. A few Magnolias are still singing and a Black-throated Green once and awhile, but it’s getting quiet. Except for the vireos, of course.
