[Maine-birds] Messalonskee Lake - Sandhill Cranes, 7/27

Spent about an hour at Messalonskee Lake in Belgrade on the evening of 7/27.  Highlight was 2 adult Sandhill Cranes in the marsh opposite the lumber yard.  Other notables -

 

1 American Bittern flying over the marsh by the boat ramp

1 Solitary Sandpiper on a small mudflat at the small red building just south of the boat ramp

At least 5 Black Terns in varying plumages

3 Green-winged Teal flying over the marsh
