[Maine-birds] Golden Eagle

At approx 2PM today, five of us saw the previously reported Golden Eagle from the River Road, just south of the Flood Farm near the Clinton/Benton town line.  This high spot provides expansive and unobstructed views of a large tract of fields to the east, with excellent views to the Kennebec River, just above Shawmut Dam, to the west. The bird has been seen mostly in the narrow corridor above, or near the Kennebec River. The white under wing patches, light colored tail base and dark terminal band were highly visible. The slight dihedral and flight pattern differentiated the Golden eagle from the "flying plank" look of the Bald eagle that it was seen soaring with, upriver.
