The Golden Eagle in Benton (and Clinton) looks like it is in its 2nd winter (about 1.5 yrs-old). In these big birds molt takes a long time, and this Golden appears to be in Basic I plumage. It has a few new inner primaries, probably molted in this past summer through fall, and yet has retained all its secondaries from the summer of 2011 when it was born.
