[Maine-birds] Ram Island by S.U.P.

Paddled out to Ram Island at the entrance of Casco Bay today looking for Snowy owls.  Walked most of the island, no snows.  Very birdy habitat...low scrub trees.  I know in the summer it is over-run by gulls.  I pished out some curious song-sparrows, cardinals and a curious downy woodpecker.  Huge rafts of ducks all around the island, including many Co. Eiders, Co. Goldeneyes, Razorbills, Black Scoters.  Will need to pack a scope next time.

If anyone is especially adventurous and curious about birding by Stand Up Paddleboard, feel free to contact me.  I'd be very happy to take you out, especially if you can learn me a thing or two about birds!
