[Maine-birds] Saco River -Downtown to Camp Ellis

This morning I hit a few hotspots along the Saco River.  I started out at my office where there were 3 Hen Cogos, 1 Hen Common Merganser, The Drake Barrows Goldeneye, and a continuing group of Mallards, two of which were mating.

I headed behind Sullivan Tire and the Subway/Dominos but there were only gulls.  On Factory Island between the Mills on the Saco and Biddeford side was a small patch of open water, but no activity.  Below the falls on Front St (before the yacht club) there were 6 Hen Common Meransers and Ring-Billed, Herring and GBB gulls. There were two Mockingbirds and 3 - 5 Cardinals, but no warblers and the only sparrows were house sparrows.

Things weren't looking great.  At Camp Ellis it was quiet and there were only a few RedBreaeted Mergansers and Long-Tailed Ducks in the water between UNE, Hills Beach and the pier at Camp Ellis.

BUT the last stop, looking in the Saco Bay from the jetty paid off... 3 American Wigeons.  Two Drakes and a Hen.
