[Maine-birds] Handfull of raptors downeast

Hi Folks,

I did an overnight in Machiasport Sunday and have a few raptors to report:

Cherryfield on Jan 20

1  Northern harrier - male along Rt 1
1  Sharp-shinned hawk - soaring over town near the intersection of Rt.  and Rt. 1.
1  Red-tailed Hawk -along Rt 1 near the Harrington town line.

Jonesport on Jan 21

2 Rough-legged hawks (light phase) near Flake Point Bar along Rt 187

Eslewhere, two friends saw a partially eaten snowshoe hare being carried by a barred owl.

Roadkills:

1  Coyote on I-95 in Benton
1  American crow in Augusta
1  Red squirrel in Jonesport near the Flake Point Bar
