[Maine-birds] Biddeford/Kennebunkport CBC prelimianary report

Greetings,

We had a great day in the field for  our 54th B/K CBC.

One  highlight  was the 17, maybe 18 Snowy Owls that were located (need to check on possible double count of one owl)  - topping the old record of 6.   We had several other high species counts and a record 90 species totaled already ( without including any feeder watch data).    Detailed data coming in a few days - time to get some sleep before tomorrow’s Freeport/Brunswick count!

Here are a few of the birds we missed today that someone might find within the circle during the next three days of Count Week.    Please let me know if you do find any of these birds or any other unusual bird that we may have missed today:    Great Blue Heron, Bonaparte’s Gull, Savannah Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Red-winged Blackbird, Grackle, and Northern finches.

Enjoy a great 2014 birding year!

Marie
