Had a spectacular end to our CBC day. At about 3:30 at the south end of
Kings Highway in Goose Rocks, with a Snowy Owl perched on a chimney, a
Cooper's Hawk zipped overhead, a Razorbill flew N over the water, a
Short-eared Owl appeared over the marsh and spooked into the open 15
Horned Larks. No, I'm not making this up.
The Short-eared Owl flew back and forth over the marsh for 10-20 minutes.
Early in day, we also had a Swamp Sparrow a little further up Kings Highway.
Not a bad CBC! Bill Grabin, with Monica Grabin and Shiloh Schulte
